Serbia will always have a special place in our hearts for giving us 2007′s winner Marija Šerifović and being proud of her. At least in a don’t-ask-don’t-tell-way…
For 2010 they picked Milan Stanković and his song “ovo je balkan” (this is the balkans”).
This might be a traditional song, but it’s not a traditional performer. Well, I guess this leads us to another don’t-ask-don’t-tell-issue…
Anyway, they managed to put a catchy song together that combines traditional and modern sounds/looks/feelings. And added some crazy stripping dancing.
Which makes a very suitable ESC entry.
Yes, I think it’s a fun song that should make it to the final.
He looks like a nice guy with confidence, humor and talent – things we look for in our male friends.
I’m not gonna joke about Milans haircut, but give hime extra points for diversity (folk song, native language, unique look, freestyle dancing…) instead.
And even more points for his dancers! Look at them!
Some sporty girls in casual b-girl-style who probably have some tattoos to hide doing weird stuff!
If only it wasn’t so hard to read any lesbian subtext into these lyrics!
